Adam Gurney is a Chicago attorney who focuses primarily on real estate closings and probate matters. In real estate, Adam has extensive experience representing buyers and sellers in all phases of residential and commercial transactions throughout Chicago and surrounding communities.

His practice also includes probate and estate administration, with particular expertise in estates involving real estate—guiding executors and families through the Illinois probate process while coordinating property sales and transfers.

Adam’s background also encompasses business formations, landlord-tenant matters, condominium law, and mechanics lien disputes—breadth that informs his real estate practice and allows him to navigate complex property transactions with unique insight into ownership structures, tenant issues, and construction-related concerns.

While a student at Northwestern University School of Law, Joe gained valuable experience with family law matters through his externship at Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and developed expertise in probate and estate planning as a clerk at Prather Ebner LLP.

Since graduating and being admitted to the bar in 2013, Joe has represented clients in various family and estate matters through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and Wills for Heroes. His experience in family law and estate planning—background that enhances his ability to handle sensitive family dynamics and complex estate administrations with both legal expertise and empathy.

Joe is currently a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations and serves as co-chair of the CBA YLS Public Outreach—Wills for Heroes subcommittee, reflecting his commitment to community service and access to legal guidance.

James is a Chicago-based attorney providing hands on guidance in his representation of residential home buyers and sellers with Gurney Law Group.

Chris Cue is a dedicated attorney focused on residential real estate and business formation, helping clients navigate important legal decisions with clarity and confidence. Chris works closely with individuals, investors, and entrepreneurs to ensure their matters are handled efficiently and strategically.

Chris’s real estate practice centers on residential transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, contract drafting and review, title and closing matters, and resolving property-related issues. Chris earned his Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law and his LL.M. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and serves clients primarily in the Chicagoland area. 

Imani earned her Associate’s in Applied Science with a focus on Paralegal Studies in 2017 and has since become exceptionally well-versed in the process of purchasing and selling real estate throughout Chicago and surrounding communities.

Imani assists the attorneys at Gurney Law Group in all real estate transactions, specializing in comprehensive file management that ensures nothing falls through the cracks. She takes pride in communicating with all parties—realtors, lenders, buyers, sellers, and title companies—to ensure smooth and enjoyable closings for clients.

Her responsibilities include collecting and drafting various documents required for closing, supporting the team and clients from beginning to end, and often taking initiative to offer solutions when unexpected situations arise. Jasmine Burlingham is a Chicago native with a genuine passion for helping people navigate real estate transactions successfully. Gabriela assists the attorneys of Gurney Law Group in all real estate matters, bringing a strong foundation in law and a commitment to exceptional client service to every transaction.

A graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Law, Gabriela began her legal career at a personal injury firm, where she developed a sharp eye for detail and a deep understanding of client needs. She has since channeled that experience into real estate law, where she works seamlessly with all parties to a transaction—realtors, lenders, title companies, buyers, and sellers—doing whatever is necessary to move matters forward as efficiently as possible.

Well-versed in the full lifecycle of a real estate transaction, Gabriela handles the preparation of a wide range of legal documents, from purchase agreements to closing statements, ensuring accuracy and precision at every stage.
